A few years ago I was asked by the people at the Doctor Who Fanzine ‘Planet Of The Ming Mongs‘ to provide them with an illustration of veteran Doctor Who actors Elisabeth Sladen and Nicholas Courtney, both of whom had recently passed away. After almost two years and with the premier of the news series looming tantalisingly on the horizon, they’ve finally published! You can read both issues by following the link above.

I decided to take a ‘faded photograph’ approach to the drawing.

Apart from sleeping, reading, listening to music, secretly judging people on the newspaper they’ve bought, counting cows, nibbling on Fruit Pastels, covertly checking out the city girls, fantasising about the city girls and wishing death upon dawdling arseholes, there really isn’t much else you can do on a train but sketch.

A couple of ‘blind’ drawings, done without looking at the paper. Always good to shake things up a bit.

Columbo has just no more things. A rough sketch I did earlier in the year and therefore not opportunistic.

Hate the hands. I don't think they match the rest of the drawing.

More Columbo related tomfoolery to come in the not-too-distant future.
