Humf is a pre-school series following the everyday adventures of ‘furry thing’ Humf, and his friends Wallace and Loon, as they discover and explore the world around them. Humf was animated using the CelAction software – essentially a sophisticated form of digital cut-out animation. Below are several scenes I animated.
Due to the nature of animating in the CelAction software, and increasing pressures of tight deadlines, it was often necessary to supplement scenes with stock or ‘library’ animation. All effort has been made to differentiate between ‘stock’ animation and my animation. It should be assumed from the outset, unless otherwise stated, that all walk or run cycles (and running to turns etc.) were pre-animated by someone else.
*Loon’s (pink bird) turn from right to left was animated by someone else.
*Loon and Wallace (green thing) bouncing up and down on the bed was animated by someone else.
*Loon’s run and turn was animated by me for an earlier episode and subsequently re-used for many parts of the rest of the series.
